plastocor® tube end inlet coating system P400 can indefinitely protect and repair condensers and heat exchanger tubes against inlet and outlet end corrosion and erosion.

A three-stage method applied in three differently coloured layers to simplify the inspection of the tubes, creates a feathered termination eliminating the danger of step-erosion.

In combination with plastocor® tube sheet cladding, it offers the optimal life extension system (>20 years).

Three-Stage Method

The picture shows the three-stage method of tube inlet and outlet coatings. Three different layers of coatings are applied in different colors, for example red - white - grey to make inspection of the tubes easier.

Due to the multiple-color coating system, it is possible to calculate the remaining live span of the coated tubes by judging the remaining thickness of the top coat after any given time of operation and then translating this time to the remaining two layers. This enables us to plan ahead and budget.

The three-stage method creates a feathered termination eliminating the chance of step-erosion, a common problem with the use of plastic or metal inserts.

Therefore the method can bridge small perforations of the tube wall thereby repairing the tube and returning it to service.
The need to retube is thus postponed or eliminated.
