plastocor® Tube Lining System for Full-Length Tube Protection and Optimisation

plastocor® Tube Lining System – less downtimes, more savings, simply the most economic way to extend the lifespan of tubes

The original patented plastocor® tube lining system is a unique on-site application system carried out during regular outages to extend the lifespan of small calibre tubes (3-4mm) of condensers and heat exchangers damaged by erosion and corrosion. The patented technology, machinery and services allow for full-length tube coatings of approx. 15m length. plastocor® tube lining eliminates almost all metal ion discharges, such as e.g. copper, zinc, arsenic, resulting in not only expert tube protection, but also protection of the environment.

Why choose plastocor®
Tube Lining System?

plastocor® Tube Lining as a cost-efficient alternative to retubing

While coatings on condenser or exchanger tubes will not last as long as retubing (5-10 years vs. 20 years), they have their place in the overall operations and maintenance schedule and options portfolio. The coating of 40’000 of up to 25m tubes can be done within the lead time of a typical outage turnaround cycle of 45 days. The costs run in the range of roughly 30-40% of retubing costs.

Can buy your tubes an extra lifespan of up to 10 years

plastocor® tube lining allows you to buy time to budget for retubing, engineer, or make it to the next turbine outage four years away. Full or partial down tube coatings may also be an option to avoid operation unavailability and leakages and reduce fouling and the need for chemical cleaning. Tubes protected with tube lining have had a service life of more than 10 years, in some cases right up to today.

Eliminates heavy metal discharges to the cooling water

In the case of the CEA PHENIX Nuclear Power Plant in France according to ISO1400, the yearly heavy metal discharge was reduced for copper by 8.2 tons, for zinc by 3.8 tons and arsenic by 7 kg, thus improving the water quality dramatically. 100% solid and non-VOC materials on the entire tube length further reduces the need to add chemicals to the cooling water and for chemical cleaning.

One-Stop Solution

plastocor-international SA one-stop solution prevents and repairs all erosion and corrosion problems along the entire cooling water cycle. Huge savings on operational costs given our fully integrated, compatible package. Let our one-stop solution optimise your plant’s productivity, efficiency and reliability.

Expert Application

Combining expert know-how and skilled application, plastocor® made-to-measure solutions can be applied worldwide, anywhere and in any climatic conditions. We work with locally skilled labour to provide you with the quickest response rate possible to minimise shutdown periods and optimise productivity.
